Good morning, myname is Joe, today I am going to introduce ‘’loving vincent’’ does anyone knowwho is this guy? (Yeah! you got it/ Hum…You're almost there!) He is the martyr of art─Vincent van gogh. Whenit comes to van gogh, you guys may have heard a song (singing…Starry starry night, Paint yourpalette blue and gray huh huh…) I think this is ringing a bell for everyone. Today I willshow you some painting, uhh… no!probably not it’s actually an animation The movie, which is released in September, tellsthe story of Vincent Van Gogh’s life and death through his paintings, inaddition it is the first animated feature film ever to use oil paintings forall of its frames. At 12 frames per second, that’s no small feat—it took morethan 100 artists to make 65000 paintings, which were based on Van Gogh’s ownwork. This was how the movie produced, as you can see, each screen was throughthe actors’ performance, then the artists converted them into oil painting’sform. And this was the work environment of artists, there was computer offeredthem to see what they have to draw, the board which they paint on something, alsohave their tool beside them. When I have seenthe movie, I just wanna say(picture) It is not easy to finish this work. Sonext, I am going to show you more paintings about the film. First, look atthe picture, the name of this painting is Pere Tanguy, the upper left is original, lower right is animation version.Pere Tanguy wasrunning an art supplies store at the time. Hetook care of unknown painters in order that his shop becamethe place where Impressionist artists often stayed. In the eyes of Van Gogh, Tanguywas a gentle and lovely person, also an importantfriend. He often credited canvas and pigment for poor painters, for the sake ofthis he even quarreled with wife. He encouraged those artist to keep theircreative enthusiasm even if in hardship. He encouraged Van Gogh to fight forhis dreams, and he must not be ashamed of poverty and despair. The greatestsadness was losing his dream. It can be seen that background of the paintingwith those characteristics of Japan was ukiyo-e which was deeply influenced VanGogh, ukiyo-e formed of a complex background, in contrast with the foregroundfigures, at the same time as the screen tend to flatten resulted in shrinkageof space sense. This work is a masterpiece of Van Gogh in Paris period. Characterplaced in the central composition and almost symmetrical. The gorgeous sense ofthe painting, contrasting with the color, all extended to the Arles period. Whiteskin and gray beard bring out the eyes with Prussian blue and red lips. Thatvein floating hands, contrast in the dark blue shirt, but even more obvious. This is the the works of in the end of Paris period. Actually, ukiyo-e was all the rage in Paris at the time, since that the Japanese importedtea into Europe are often packed with paper which had ukiyo-e on it, the waveof love spread European art circle Van Gogh is also attracted by it. Theinfluence of "ukiyo-e" on the Van Gogh is not only a superficial brushstoke, change the way of using color, but also a emancipation of Van Gogh fromthe framework of Western painting. OK, next StarryNight Over the RhoneIn the picture, the characters and ship, the starlight and the light of village, the sky and river they form the beauty of contrast. The blue tone night with the yellow tone light and stars reflect in the Rhone and generate refraction, it shows the beauty of reconciliation. As for the blue tone in the whole painting, it is also gradually changing, full the level changes of single tone, known as the gradient, making the screen more lively. The sky in this period is quite different from later period, at that time his spirit was in an unstable state, but perhaps because of this, his emotion could be blend in painting so vividly when sensibility beyond reason. Van Gogh draws the stars and the moon in the sky as if they were burning-like emitting a resplendent light, and the whole picture seems to be shining brightly because of the arrangement of short brush strokes and the two contrasting colors of blue and orange. Does anyone notice that there is Big Dipper in the sky? It is interesting, doesn’t it? Last picture, Wheatfield with CrowsVan Gogh diedtwo weeks after completing this work. The painting uses blue, yellow, red, green four colors to describe the scenery. Dark, harsh sky reveal the spiritualdistress of the Van Gogh, a group of messy, low-flying crows, fluctuatinghorizons and violent strokes add to oppression, resistance and uneasy, and crows are signs ofominous. Under the sky, the blue and yellow of the wheatfields are in contrast. The red of path also contrasts with the green, form a strong sense of contradiction. The sky press down golden wheatfields,it is too heavy to breath. In this painting, he tries to express his"loneliness and melancholy ". Thewheatfield is so wide that we don’t know where the end is. The Perspectivemethod, which is commonly used in broad, open fields, is upside down here. Thelines in the painting converge from the horizon to the front of the frame. There is absolutely no central point in the painting. we can see that he draw invery hard and very fast, as if his lifetime is running out. And the crow fliesout of the field seems that they are telling the tragedy of Van Gogh. Next, I justwant to show you guys some animation OK first themost famous painting of Van gogh─ the starrynightBridges across the Seine atAsnières Oldman in sorrowThe first three paintings were remake of the originalOthers are footage in the movie In the movie, there are some memories of Vincent, soin order to present those scenes that do not appear in Van Gogh's paintings, the film adapted "flashback" and uses black and white tones. On thebasis of colorful film, it cast a layer of calm and restrained emotional color. The movie's ending didn’t tell the answer of his deathjust like a riddle, hence, it gave me a feeling of ambiguity. In the last footage of the movie, Van Gogh slowly lookedback, and we still could feel his sincere without a word, and this was enoughto make us burst into tears. This is one ofhis famous quotes Thanks for listening
