It is very often to see some verbs' PP can be used as an adjective. I am wondering that is there a rule or grammar for it? Because there are some verbs can be used in that way, some verbs can't. For example, the verb "conflict" cannot be used like "The two statements are conflicted.". We can only say "The two statements conflict with each other. ".  The verb "fail" cannot be used like "The project is failed.". We can only say "The project has failed". However, there are some verbs such as "please", "update", "hide" and "break" which are often to be used as an adj. Such as "Those customers are pleased.", "There is a hidden agenda." and "The machine is broken".  This question is hard to be answered by Google and Yahoo. Is there a grammar expert can help?

Well, both "conflicted" and "conflicting" are adjectives.  For example, you have a lot of conflicting emotions which make you feel conflicted.

For you sentence above, I would say, "The two statements are conflicting with each other".

The word "conflict" can certainly be used as a verb in sentence, for example, "Option A conflicted with option B".

Understand. Thanks. Another difficulty I have is like my topic. Sometimes, verb PP can be use as an adjective, but I couldn't tell it should be an "adjective" or passive. For example from my work, "Please find the attached zip file as the auditing required document. I will send the password in a separated mail. " I also see people made the sentence like "the password is separated to be sent to you". Not sure to choose verb PP as adjective or passive which one is better?   ...

若瀏覽伊莉的時侯發生問題或不正常情況，請使用Internet Explorer(I.E)。
In addition, Some verbs cane be used as adjective in PP type. I want to know that are those verbs categorized in some grammar rules?

The word "separate" itself is also an adjective, which can be read quite similarly to "separated".
